Before you ride
Riding safely
Every bike comes with a helmet, a lock and lights.
Helmet on, every ride
It is in the hire terms and it is the one thing that changes what happens in a fall. Staff will fit it at the hub; it should sit level and snug, two fingers above the eyebrows.
Ride on the left, stay visible
Keep left, ride in a straight line, and use the lights whenever it is dim, not only after dark. Signal before you turn. Assume a driver has not seen you until they have.
Lock it every time you step away
Through the frame and a fixed object, even for a minute. Loss caused by leaving a bike unlocked is charged at cost, as the terms explain.
Ebikes
The assist starts when you pedal and stops at 35 km/h. Brake earlier than you would on a bike without assist, especially downhill and in the wet. The battery covers about 60 km; if it runs low, the bike still rides as a normal bike.
If something goes wrong
Pull off the road first. Then open your booking link and tap Help with this booking, or WhatsApp us. If the bike has a fault, do not keep riding it; we will sort out a swap or a refund.
Back by closing
Bikes are due back at Sote Hub by 19:00. Running late? Extend from your booking link and the return time moves.
